NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming is sometimes described as the attitude or science of excellence. It is now used in Education, Selling, Therapy, Sports and Personal development.
Neuro refers to the mind and how we experience the world through our senses.Linguistic refers to our Language verbal and non verbal. Programming refers to the strategies, patterns or habits that we run.
There are different levels of skill achieved in NLP i.e. NLP Practitioner, Master Practitioner or Trainer of NLP.
NLP was developed by 2 Americans in the seventies and has grown steadily in popularity ever since. They modelled, or discovered and copied the patterns of language and behaviours expressed by top therapists in the USA and discovered they could achieve the same fantastic results as these top therapists without the years of experience or training they had undergone. This ability to perceive and duplicate excellence led to the fast growing interest of others and the application of NLP in many different fields of practise. Most of NLP is about its techniques that are taken from Hypnotherapy and from language patterns of expert communicators, the rest of the underpinning principle of NLP is about developing an attitude that motivates the individual to levels of achievement and success in any area of life they choose.
