Hannah originally trained at the University of Roehampton, London, in the Science of Sport and Exercise and Contemporary Dance. Following completion of this Degree she felt that she wanted to work with a wider variety of people, rather than just those within the sports field, and in a more acute setting. With her main interest being in movement analysis, sports psychology and biomechanics, she decided to take her studies further and began her Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of East Anglia, Norwich.
Throughout her Masters Degree, Hannah developed a particular interest in body-work, mainly in Soft Tissue related therapies. This led her to take her Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy, which she now incorporates into her Physiotherapy practice, finding it to be of great therapeutic affect.
Hannah’s oldest love is of movement, hence her training in Contemporary Dance! She has a strong belief in the importance of knowing oneself, both in mind and body, and feels that this can be achieved through training in disciplines such as Dance, Pilates and Yoga. Within her Physiotherapy work however, Pilates plays the strongest role out of the three in respect to re-educating, strengthening and toning the body in light of prevention and/or cure of injury. She has studied under the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI), which focuses on Rehabilitation Pilates. Hannah combines her knowledge and abilities as a Dancer with her in-depth anatomical and biomechanical knowledge to deliver personalised, dynamic and, most importantly, safe Pilates both in small classes and 1:1 settings.
Currently, Hannah works at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital as an Orthopaedic Physiotherapist, teaches Pilates and works as a therapist at the Complementary Health Care Clinic.
Hannah offers Physiotherapy, Sports Massage and Pilates appointments as separate or combined treatments; available as required to suit each individuals need.
Hannah has experience of working in a wide variety of health settings: orthopaedics (acute and elective), respiratory care, neurological and musculoskeletal outpatients, intensive care, stroke recovery, occupational health, and care of the elderly. Hannah confidently manages a vast range of disorders and is always happy to discuss your situation either by phone or in person should you wish to ask any questions prior to seeking Physiotherapy treatment.
