Is climate change causing us to be susceptible to colds all year round? Recent research says it is…

Warmer weather may mean that we catch more mild infections, rather than fewer of the rather more nasty kind. This means that the immune level won’t be producing a strong enough response to kill the virus and prevent it re-infecting an organism – therefore we may fall victim to the same bug again and again, never shaking it off quite completely.

So what can we do? First of all, we need to look towards strengthening the immune system, responding to any viruses that present themselves – killing them quickly and effectively, and best of all safely and naturally – protecting us from further re-infection, and other infections too.

This wonder drug is in fact grown in many gardens around the country! It’s called the coneflower, or Echinacea.

It has been proven to work against cold symptoms in placebo controlled trials, which also established its safety. Those taking this wonder “drug” had a 63% reduction in the common cold symptoms. It was well tolerated, and shown to have an excellent safety profile. Furthermore, in July 07, the Lancet published research showing that Echinacea can more than halve the risk of catching the common cold.

In-Vitro research has shown that the A.Vogel Echinacea Throat Spray provided effective levels of antibacterial and antiviral activity, helping to tackle the tell-tale 1st impending sign of an oncoming cold…that nasty little tickle in the back of the throat. This spray contains both Echinacea and Sage – fresh herbal tinctures.

Directing the tincture through the special nozzle onto the back of the throat ensures that the spray hits just the right spot, setting the herbs to work within seconds by getting them into the blood stream extremely fast. This will improve the activity of immune cells in the area, speeding up the resolution of the infection.

You can purchase all kinds of A.Vogel Fresh Herb Echinacea products from The Natural Food Store, 4 Exchange Street, Norwich, NR2 1AT Tel 01603 613228. (Products include Throat Spray, Fresh Herb Tablets and Tincture among others).
